Jose Cruz, founder and artistic director of Salseros Productions, has been teaching Latin dance in the Eugene community since 1999.  Born and raised in El Salvador, Central America, Jose has been dancing since the age of twelve.  A key player in the salsa community in Eugene, Jose organizes weekly salsa events, teaches group and private classes, and is an artist in residence with LaneArts Council, teaching salsa to elementary and middle school students.  Jose is also the founder of the Eugene-based salsa band Descarga 54. Jose is a dedicated full-time instructor, choreographer, performer, DJ, musician, and promoter, and he is excited to continue sharing Latin music and dance with the local community and beyond.



Michelle Cruz is the Assistant Director of Salseros Productions and assists with Salseros classes, performance groups, and events. Michelle has been dancing salsa since 2007 and joined Salseros Dance Company in 2009.  A Study Abroad Program Coordinator at the University of Oregon by day, Michelle is passionate about bringing people from different cultures together.


Founded by Artistic Director Jose Cruz in 1999, Salseros Productions is dedicated to promoting Latino culture through salsa dance and music in the local community and beyond.  We believe in the power of salsa to transcend differences and bring people together, and we are passionate about building community and sharing our love of Latin dance and music. Salseros Productions reaches hundreds of people each year through excellence in performance, instruction, and events.
