What is a salsa festival?

A salsa festival is a full weekend celebration of the art of Latin music and dancing. The evenings include a beginner salsa lesson, performances by local and world-class groups, and live music and dancing. During the day, there are dance workshops from the beginning level to advanced, as well as a beginner bootcamp.

Can I attend the festival if I haven’t done salsa before?

Yes! The festival is open to people of all levels of experience. On Friday and Saturday evening, there will be a beginning salsa lesson, followed by dance performances, and then live music, so there is lots to watch and enjoy even if you aren’t on the dance floor all night. The beginner bootcamp on salsa is perfect for those who haven’t danced before, and several of the other workshops are taught at the beginner level.

Do I need to bring a partner?

No partner is necessary to attend. You can come by yourself, or with a partner, or with friends. During the evening classes and the workshops during the day, everyone will rotate, so you’ll have a chance to dance with everyone.

What should I wear?

For the evenings, most people like to dress up a little. For the workshops, you can wear clothes that are comfortable.

How much do tickets cost?
